Dark night, cold night,
while the rest of the world
is asleep,
A paper boat, in a vicious
ride,
draws straws with a reckless
sea.
Clothes are wet but the
souls have been dried, burnt from terror and
despair… Dark night, cold night… a paper boat will
drown somewhere!
I look away, I close my eyes
…
I know there's pain but all
the effort is to hide it
And day by day, the wave
grows higher and so our blame by cut their hopes at
the wire.
Could be you, it could be me
A paper boat throwing hopes
on the sea…
Could be you, it could be me
To risk your sons by a hope
on the sea
Torn by pain, pushed by fear
from the memories of before
To keep on living with
dignity...
that’s the light their
searching for!
we nod our heads, we close
our eyes …
we know there's pain but all
the effort is to hide it
And day by day, the wave
grows higher and so our blame by cut their hopes at
the wire.
Could be you, it could be me
A paper boat throwing hopes
on the sea…
Could be you, it could be me
To risk your sons by a hope
on the sea
Dark night, cold night,
cold to cries of those who
dare
By the morning light, in a
wreckage tide...
another hope was drowned
somewhere.
